The sixth episode looks at the history of the slave trade through the prism of gender. Historian Vanessa Olry tells the story of the women - often widows, unmarried or the sisters and daughters of shipowners - involved in the slave trade or in Nantes' trade. She uses the examples of the widows Geslin and Grou, both of whom lived in the Feydeau district in the 18th century, to explore this little-known subject.
