El Hadji Malick Ndiaye holds a doctorate in art history from the University of Rennes II, is a former postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratoire d'excellence Création, Arts et Patrimoines (Labex CAP) and the Centre de Recherches sur les Arts et le Langage (EHESS/CNRS), a graduate of the Institut National du Patrimoine (Paris), and a former scholarship holder at the Institut National d'Histoire de l'Art (Paris). He is currently a researcher at IFAN/ Ch Anta Diop and curator of the Musée Théodore Monod d'art. He also teaches Art History and Cultural Heritage at Cheikh Anta Diop and Gaston Berger Universities, collaborates with several journals and participates in various international scientific activities. He is also Secretary General of ICOM Senegal, a member of the Board of IFAN, a member of the Art Council of African Studies Association (ACASA) and Artistic Director of the Biennale of Contemporary African Art in Dakar (2022). Thus, El Hadji Malick Ndiaye is a major voice in the "reinvention" of the museum on the African continent, having contributed to this field for over a decade. In addition, he actively participates in African museum networks and encourages collaborations with artists, linking cultural heritage with contemporary artistic practices.
