Musée de la musique, Paris 75019 (La Vilette)
Day with Ariane Théveniaud, heritage conservator and doctoral student who is conducting research on the restoration of musical instruments. The objective of her thesis is "to study and question the consideration of the functional value of non-Western musical instruments during the intervention of conservation-restoration, from the second half of the 19th century to the present day.
We will focus on his theoretical and practical study based on a corpus of lutes preserved in the Musée de la musique (Cité de la musique-Philharmonie de Paris), in the Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac and in the Musée des Instruments de Musique de Bruxelles.
Alexandre Girard-Muscagorry, responsible for the non-European collections of the Cité de la musique, will introduce us to this particular collection of musical instruments.
